Message From Governor Vicki Nov 29

SNR Members,
I do hope you all had a "thankful" Thanksgiving and spent time with friends and family. I thank you all for your dedication to the Soroptimist mission.
For those of you who attended your Fall District meetings recently, you will recall that I discussed the Soroptimist International of the America's efforts to define a long range goal for Soroptimists.  As we approach our 100 year anniversary in 2021, this is being referred to as the "Big Goal".  Through a club survey last year, SIA has identified the Big Goal to be "Invest in the dreams of one million women and girls through access to education by 2031".  Sounds great, right?  Well, that's a very big goal!  In fact, we don't even know if it's achievable.  So, to help SIA figure out if this goal is attainable, there is another survey for each club, Big Goal Survey #2.  This survey has already been sent to each club President through the club email account.  The survey is also available on the SIA website or by using this link  I implore each club to schedule a club meeting and discuss the items on the survey.  As those at each of the district meetings learned, there are some tough questions that are worthy of a club conversation.  I feel that it is important for each club to be heard in this goal defining process that will lead to shaping the future of Soroptimist.  Make sure your voice is heard, survey deadline is December 30, 2016.  And just to make things a little more interesting, there will be a drawing from all clubs who submitted their completed survey on time for one free registration to Soroptimist Development Retreat 2017.  The drawing will be held at Conference 2017.  Let's get those surveys completed and submitted.
Please contact me or any of the board members if you have any questions on the Big Goal, we are more than happy to discuss with you or your club.
Thank you for your service,
Governor Vicki
