March 14, 2017 Message from the Governor

Message from the Governor
Soroptimist Members,

I  am thrilled and excited to announce our Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator for Southern Nevada.  Please help me welcome Jeanie Ferguson of Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Las Vegas.  Jeanie will be coordinating our club efforts in the Southern Nevada area of our Region.  With the addition of Jeanie, I believe we have a strong team in all of Sierra Nevada Region.  Jeanie joins Amie Laughlin (Northern Nevada) and, of course, our amazing Joanne Tremelling (California).  As I've mentioned before, our efforts have grown and Joanne needed more help.  With guidance from Joanne, these women can address the distinct needs in the 3 unique areas.
A little bit about Jeannie:

Jeanie has been a Soroptimist member since 2008 and has served as Secretary and President of her club.  She is a proud member of the Laurel Society.  She is an active member of Break These Chains Live Free (BTCLF)  since it's inception five years ago.  Her activity in BTCLF makes her the perfect fit for the Stop Trafficking efforts in Southern Nevada.

We will hear more from Jeanie and the other coordinators of the Stop Trafficking Task Force at our upcoming Conference.
And speaking of Conference,

Today is the deadline for the "Early Bird Registration" which puts you in a drawing for a one night stay and spa treatment at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.  Sign up today !!

Also, any Clubs wanting pre-order items from SIA, please contact Treasurer Pam Greever at snrtreasurer@soroptimistsnr.org before 3/31st, I believe you save a few dollars in shipping, but don't quote me on that, talk to Pam.
